R10 is 4k7 now so I will try a 3k3 as well. I don’t mind a little less bass boosting as there’s plenty of that already. EDIT: just replaced the R10 4k7 with a 3k3 resistor and it improved the treble a bit and also the response of the bass. Thanks @paulc!

R10 is a 4k7 now so I will lower that to 3k3 and give that a go! EDIT: for forum members that are going to build this I would advice them to use 3k3 instead of 4k7 for R10. ;)

I just posted a build report and quoted you in it. Did you build the PCB? I thought that it sounded quite cool. As a starting point set mids to off, bass to noon and treble to max. Volume to 2oc and gain to off for boost and higher for drive. Both switches in the middle position.

Cool build and great, amp like sounding pedal. Timmy on steroids. Boosts well with the gain to minimum and gradually adds overdrive up to quite some distortion when increasing the gain. The mids pot is where the zorks are. ;) With mids to minimum it’s flat but increasing it adds a very pleasant...

What influences the output of the pedal? More specially does Q4 influence the output? Unity now is around 12 oc or a little above.

I’ve used BF245A for now with an Idss around 5mA and VP around -1,9v. I used a 5k trimpot for R4 and had to increase 1,8k value to get the Q1 drain to 5v. Q2 drain was just above 5v with the 560r and Q3 above 8v. Used a 2n5088 for Q4 with HFE just below 500. It‘s already sounding pretty great...

I’ve build it and I think that it’s quite a cool alternative with a little more gain. Tone works a little better on this one. I would be curious about the Vemuram Butter Machine and TWA SH9 differences to the SD-9 @Robert ;)

I tried a Kliche buffer in front of the ElectroVibe (like the MBP Harbinger) and it improved the situation a little bit. Placement of the vibe is crucial and it’s best to experiment until you find what works best for you. Are you satisfied with the gain and bias settings?
