Yes just use a Lumberg. There's no need to use those bulky DC jacks if you're not using a battery.

That sounds pretty normal. EU customs require detailed descriptions of any electronics coming in and if DHL has to do that for you, you'll pay through the nose. This is why I've never bought anything from Tayda (and why all my enclosures are blank, no UV printing service for pedals in Europe)...

I'm partial to the double luge. Lüge means lie in German. As in you have to lie to your friends and family about the ridiculous sport you practice until the fateful day you come out as a double luger.

Both the 20uF cap and lug 1 of the Fuzz pot have to go to ground, doesn't matter how. On a breadboard, I would connect them to the ground rail individually, each with its own jumper, for clarity. It's another benefit of breadboards, I can spread out the circuit and see where everything is going...

There are some great breadboarding tutorials on this forum. Take a look at those for a good workflow

Do you have the right transistors? Get two units with leakage below 100uA, gain can be anywhere between 150-300 depending on the specific silicon transistors, both can have the same amount of gain (the JHF1 is around 260 iirc) or stick to the classic germanium gains, 80 for Q1 and 120 for Q2...

My suggestion is to breadboard the circuit. It's the only way you will ever learn how these things work. Then you can make your own turret board layout, like I did. What trouble is the FF giving you?

As bad as Reddit is, I found some useful posts there. We have to start somewhere and I know I was clueless at the beginning. I mean, I still don't know how a transistor works, I still don't know what biasing is. I can build a simple circuit from a schematic but I never left the paint-by-numbers...
