Help for Aion FX Nucleus (Colorsound Power Boost)

If you need to audioprobe the circuit to narrow down the issue's location, here is the signal path. In red is the main path, in green are alternate paths to check if the signal goes in and comes out of the Drive and Treble controls. If the signal stops somewhere, keep probing to find the exact...

Help for Aion FX Nucleus (Colorsound Power Boost)

are you sure the transistors are correctly oriented ? On schematics, the arrow in the transistor symbol is the Emitter, you can do a continuity test to check if your Emitters are going to the right component, according to schematics. An other way to debugg this, would be to follow the signal...

    Bassdude output level and impedance

I noticed my bassdude in the only circuit that doesn't pair well with a delay i recently built, MXR M118 delay clone from lectric fx. If the Bassdude is in the signal chain, even bypassed, the repeats simply disappear, i don't know why. It's probably related to output voltages and impedance...

Having Trouble Sleeping? Counting Sheep Not Working?

Digesting big meals is making me very sleepy, it didn't use to do that years ago, but the older i get, the more sleepy i become after eating food. I guess cooking and eating meals could be an healthy alternative for pills ?

Collateral FX Star System (Mostortion clone)

Amazing build ! The design is really well done, with great ideas. I wonder how much would you sell this one ? I'd say somewhere around 100 or 150$ ?

Voted Top 3 Overdrive Pedals for BASS???

sushi box's bass dude is also amazing. Based on the Fender Bassman. ODB-3 variant from GCI is interesting too. All the bass dirt circuits from GCI and Sushi Box are worth the time and effort, in my experience. I still enjoy Darkglass BK3 and the Vintage Microtubes, they both have their own...

How does impedence work in long signal chains ?

Hello, I recently build an analog delay and noticed some issue in a long signal chain with 10 or 15 various effects, including buffered bypass circuits from Boss or MXR. Some circuits are decreasing the delay's repeats and response, even in bypass, depending on where the delay is connected in...

Bathtub Reverb - tube-driven digital reverb

Can i ask where we can find the audio demo ? You didn't answer about the drip effect ? Sorry if it is a stupid question, i just wonder how it sounds.

Is there a future for analog pedals?

I guess there is a massive amount of stompboxes already built. Billions of them probably. Let's hope they will be put to good use during the next 5 years. The only way for analog stompboxes's future to be impaired is if something happens to music players. Yes, there's a tiny chance that...

Is there a future for analog pedals?

In order to build a precise and effective answer to the original question, we should probably define "future". Just like everything else, the method is the key to achieve a result. Is it 20 years from now ? 200 years ? If we consider the universe as a stompbox, with a Future control, where do...

Angry Charles - strange thumping noise

hello, welcome ! First thing that comes to mind is insulating the pots so their back aren't shorting the pcb. A simple piece of cardboard or plastic between the EQ controls and the pcb should prevent that.

    Points/Rewards System

Not sure if someone already raised that point but what about EU customers ? I would suppose that most EU people aren't buying on PPCB website directly, the shipment fee from US to EU would be too expansive to make sense, not to mention the shipment delays. We all buy from musikding, i guess...

    Derailer issues (feedback and distortion)

I'd suggest to remove the excess of solder under the toggleswitch (see reply #6). Remember to be quick because the plastic is heat sensitive, if you heat the toggle's legs too long it can melt the plastic inside and break the mechanism. Then, if reflowing the suspicious soldering joints, fixing...

Circulator does a regular "pop" (LM13700 sub by NE5517)

Nantes ? Ici Rennes. I found my old post, see reply #3 : https://www.diystompboxes.com/smfforum/index.php?topic=126431.msg1208896#msg1208896 In my case it was weird. Adding an extra Rate led introduced some ticking noise much like yours. The circuit remained noisy even after disconnecting the...

Circulator does a regular "pop" (LM13700 sub by NE5517)

I had a similar issue once, trying to add a Rate led on a Dandy Horse (EHX Echo Flanger). If i remember correctly a capacitor fixed it somehow but i can't remember precisely, and i sold this build. Did you try to disconnect the Rate led and see if the pop is still there ?

Is there a future for analog pedals?

I think there will be analog stompboxes as long as the industry will manufacture the components. I guess most of these parts are useful in other fields than audio electronics ? Not every music players are fond of digital. Classic circuits close to the originals will always be a point of...

Caesar Chorus rate light on but not strobing

A chorus is a bit ambitious as a first build. You should probably start with smaller circuits like a Rat or a SHO booster. Looking at your pics, i guess i would try to work on these soldering pads. Lots of them are looking suspicious. Iron set around 400°C. Remove the excess of solder when...
