Thanks. It does sound good but the Golden Falk still reigns supreme I think. I’m sure you’ve built the 1959 as well…I like it too but man that one hits me right in the ear hole and I don’t notice until I quit playing.
Finally had all the parts come in to finish this one off. Great sounding overdrive/distortion I think. Does it sound like a JCM800? I don’t know I’ve never played one but it has that Marshall growl. Not quite as “in the ear” as the Marshall 59 but does have more distortion. Not the hot rodded...
Another great overdrive by Sheepy Love! I’d never heard of it before as they’re supposedly out of Japan, please correct me if I’m wrong, but the Happy Sheep is based off the KarDian Serotonin overdrive. I’d say more Timmy-ish but buffered and with a smooth midrange. Can function as a light boost...
Dude…get your designs out there don’t think just because you made it nobody would want them. Make some demos or something. I think the second from the left LOOKS the coolest.
Sick! What guage strings do you have to use in drop G#? Also, love the pedal rug!! 😂 I’ve only tried a friends standard production Hoof and was really blown away by it. Have a board just haven’t built it yet.
I’m getting ready to build this one. Any idea for good substitute for the 2n1308 as I don’t have anything but a couple really low gain germanium’s. Also what target HFE and leakage should we be aiming for. Should this one be leaky like some of the Skreddys or low leakage? Thanks in advance.
Great looking build. The new Marshall JCM800 pedal, PPCB Eight Ball, is the only other pedal I’ve see. Use these IC’s.
I have the actual MXR version of this pedal and it can rock! Crazy you can find them used for $50 sometimes. There’s a lot going on in there.
Finally found the time to box this one up as it’s been on the auditorium for quite a while. It may look very familiar to some of you. That’s because it’s the same housing I used for the Silver Bee that decided to quit working after I boxed it up. Still trying to figure that out but I’m not good...
So it’s pinout is Drain, Gate, Source? Am I understanding this correctly? If so then a 2n5457 with Drain, Source, Gate isn’t pin compatible.
What’s so confusing is I’ve found 3 different pin outs for this. I’m so confused.
I can’t tell if the pinout of the smd 2sk309-G matches a TO-92 2n5457 or not there seems to be conflicting information everywhere I look. Maybe I need to reverse the 2n5457?
