Nobelium - tube bass preamp project

What power supply are you using with the pedal? Also, any particular reason you went into the front of the amp? Most people I've talked to run into the FX return to bypass the amp's preamp and go straight to power amp so you aren't stacking a preamp into another preamp.

    NAM A2 Raspberry project

That's the main reason I was interested in this project in particular. I've seen the others and they're all cool, but this an all-in-one box is what I'm interested in. Being able to change effects and stuff via a phone or tablet is super cool, but frankly I don't want that. I want it all in one box.

    What's on the workbench?

That was my first thought, at my day job we call them guard traces and use them to separate sensitive signals to prevent crosstalk/interference. But if they're in places that don't make sense and aren't even ground, then yeah it's just there to make tracing more difficult.

Monoprice Stage Right 15W amp rebuild

I mean I am Sushi Box, so that's obviously where I got the PCB earlier in the post, but both versions had some issues so they're definitely not good enough for me to sell. I wanted to use a PCB because I have a lot more PCB design experience than turretboard design experience so I assumed it...

    What's on the workbench?

Pretty weird way to avoid admitting you're using JRC4558.

    NAM A2 Raspberry project

I really don't need this, but it's a neat project, I think I'm going to try it out. Pi 4B from PiShop (US authorized retailer) is $35 and the codec zero is $20, then $10 or so for shipping. Their reasonable size screens were sold out so I snagged a Waveshare 5" screen on amazon for $45. So I'm...

Monoprice Stage Right 15W amp rebuild

It's a turretboard, not a PCB. I made it myself.

Overdrive before a Nobelium in my signal chain

I doubt it. I may offer something Ampeg-flavored at some point, but for now the redacted b and redacted ii are staying under the Sushi Box lineup.

    Sourcing for modded SLO build

C3 Amps are theoretically active, but they're definitely not very responsive. I ordered a 50W SLO kit from them and it took a paypal dispute to get them to ship the head cabinet, they repeatedly ignored my emails. And after all that the build didn't work and I haven't been able to get any...

Overdrive before a Nobelium in my signal chain

If you're specifically looking for tube grit (which I assume is why you posted here), here's how I would compare the C2C offerings: Particle Accelerator - excellent for grit and light-ish overdrive when cranked, nice low frequency response makes it great for bass Bassdude - everything Particle...

That is a rabbit hole discussion all its own my dude

Where to go next? Wanting to expand my knowledge

Tubes are gross, not worth the headache. Best to avoid them altogether.

Nobelium - tube bass preamp project

Took a little longer than I hoped, but Nobelium faceplates are back in stock.

Where to go next? Wanting to expand my knowledge

DIYers these days are both blessed and cursed with access to hundreds if not thousands of amazing and well-documented pedal projects, where all you have to do is buy the PCB and put it together. This makes it incredibly easy to build a functional pedal, even a reasonably complex one, on your...

Get anything cool from McMaster Lately?

I could definitely pick up hardware and throw it in, but unfortunately hot dogs (especially Chicago style) don't travel well.

Get anything cool from McMaster Lately?

I have a list of oddball hardware parts I need to take to McMaster, but their Chicago location is only 25 minutes from my work so I can pick up in person.

    C2C Build Document Mistakes Repository

I'll start with the couple that had been brought up before and taken care of this morning: Tungsten Preamp - pot values and links were wrong; inadvertently copied over from Nobelium (fixed) Tungsten Preamp - missing IC socket for NE555 (fixed) Bathtub Reverb - missing 22k resistor (fixed)...

    C2C Build Document Mistakes Repository

It's not a secret that I make mistakes, but I do my best to take care of them. To that point I've started going through and scrubbing the BOMs for the C2C projects and generally tidying up my build docs. But because this is just me checking my own work, I can still miss things. I would love to...

    Zendrive solderable breadboard

I'll agree this is going to be difficult for us to help you debug, but if there's going to be any chance of it we'll need to see whatever layout you were following, be it one you found online or one you drew yourself, and we'll also need to see the solder side of the board. All that said...

    Zendrive solderable breadboard

A picture is worth a thousand words, especially when debugging. Could also be helpful if you have a picture of the layout you used in your build.
