    Germanium Transistors for Fuzzrite

Yes, the one over 700, is very suspicious. Anyway, I'll try to measure it again, and see what exactly do and what value it reaches. :D I'll measure even the two around 170 a bit unstable. Anyway, yes, I'll test it with the fuzz circuit, just to see what happens. Thanks!

    Germanium Transistors for Fuzzrite

I'm not sure. It's just those three. all the other 47 are stable. One has that very high hfe, over 700, I didn't wait until it stopped, but it was keeping going up, and not really slowly. The other two are have an hfe value pretty high, around 160, 170, but again, I didn't wait until that was...

    Germanium Transistors for Fuzzrite

I got the transistors, and I started to measure the hfe. GT309B, with my multimeter, go from 85 to 182, those are 50pcs. But I found three weird measurement with three of them. A pair of those start from a value and keep going up slowly for several seconds. Another starts with a higher value...

    Low ESR Capacitors

I use low ESR electrolytic capacitor, cheaper or good brand, in the power filter. For signal, when I really have to use higher value cap, common electrolytic caps. For a better performance I use electrolytic made for audio signal.

    Germanium Transistors for Fuzzrite

I hoped I wouldn't worry about leakage, (somewhere else I read about leakage with pnp transistor couldn't be a problem, usually). But do you advice to select the transistors I'll buy by hfe and leakage? In this moment I have in my cart GT309B (60...180 hfe), and I have to decide about MP42B...

    Germanium Transistors for Fuzzrite

I still need a little help, please. I'm starting to select my ideal range hfe transistors for Fuzzrite (but even more other fuzz, too, because there's a lot of pieces for just one fuzz pedal :D). Thanks!

    Germanium Transistors for Fuzzrite

Thanks, Pedalbuilder! Do you mean that the hfe I read in the description is underestimated than the one I'll read then on my multimeter? For example: MP42B PNP ~AC128 OC75 - Forward current transfer ratio (hFE) 45...100, it could be... +10? +20? I guess that is important to choice the most...

    Germanium Transistors for Fuzzrite

I'm look at this seller you mentioned, thanks. Well... I have to say a new transistors world is open in front of me. There's a lot of choice here. I'll buy some stock where I could have the fortune to find those hfe value. There's some particular transistor I could use in the Fuzz Rite circuit...

    Germanium Transistors for Fuzzrite

Hello, I'd like to build once a Fuzzrite Germanium transistor version. But every time I stuck because I don't know where I can find a pair of good transistors. The original transistor are: Q1 - 2N2613 - PNP - hfe over 120 and Q2 - GN408 hfe about 65. Catalinbread Fuzzrite has a 2N404 and...

    Muzzle NG versus Zuul NG

I got twice a defective chips. The pedal doesn't work fine, especially with the four cable method in the FX loop, the one that should be the best. In general in the FX loop it doesn't work good at all. I couldn't use the noise gate, because it cut hum and sound. The first one I built the...

I have to choose a Delay FV-1 based on

I didn't answer early, but I'm going to order a kit by Musikding, so I can't order the pre-programmed eprom separately. And it's too much expensive order the PCB and the eprom from Europe, I think. So... a kit, and it's pretty fine for me, I just have to decide what delay is better for me. I...

I have to choose a Delay FV-1 based on

I find very interesting the Hydra, indeed, it was my first choice and I think that is the better. Later I change my mind about to build it now, I prefer something more "standard" and easy, and I don't want all those switches. (Even if I can try the switches and fix them with jumper, but it's a...

I have to choose a Delay FV-1 based on

Hello, I want to build a delay pedal, something more than PT2399, but I'm a bit confused about the version and how them work. I think I'll build one of these: - D3lay - https://www.pedalpcb.com/product/d3lay/ - BuGGFX Daydream - https://www.pedalpcb.com/product/daydream/ I love the idea to...

    TPA3118 60W Power Amp Module

Thank you. That, and other high gain circuit in that thread, seems sound a bit rude, as if it needs a cabinet simulator. Do you find your build sounds like in the demo?

    TPA3118 60W Power Amp Module

At 12v you should get more clear and less gainy sound, more "headroom". But with just 3v maybe you can't hear difference. I seen before the Modern Rock Machine schematic, it looks very interesting. I never tried it, and I never found any demo, but I'm curious to hear it. Could you let us listen...

Guvenator - More Cowbell! No, I mean more Bass

If you need just a little mod you could increase C6, 1uF for example, to get more low end. If you want still a little more even C4. You could try a 220nF for C3, too, as phi1 said, but this will move the boost peak on lower frequency, could be ok for you, but I guess it change a bit the effect...

    Jack Orman's Pickup Simulator / Anti-Buffer...

I tried the circuit between a Fuzz Face DIY and a buffer DIY. First of all, it does what it has to do. And pots and switches works. Maybe the switch to half the coil of the transformer does just a little difference, just a bit darker, but that could be even this fuzz. I can't hear a lot of...

    Jack Orman's Pickup Simulator / Anti-Buffer...

Ok, the switch (and maybe the also the pot, I guess?) changes the impedance. I still have to try it with a Fuzz Face, maybe I can hear some difference in the sound. I assume that changes something in the sound, too. Else, what does it mean? I hope to clear it out this week. :)

    Jack Orman's Pickup Simulator / Anti-Buffer...

Hello. Without open a new thread I want to ask here something about this Jack Orman project. I built a version with the updated schematic, the one with Volume and Tone control, with no issue, and my built include even the early version. This: I testing it, without any other pedal. But switch...

1590B & Top Jacks: It Can Be Done

I did it, too, a few months ago. :) It wasn't easy at all, because a three pots line close the upper side. But I did it.
