With the 8 ball in mind, Is there a specific reason the MC33178 was chosen over any other opamp? I understand the slew rate is 7V, the NE5532 is 9, would there be a difference or does it even matter?

I’m learning, and I’m always seeing something new. What is the purpose of the zeners facing each other in the gain feedback loop?

I just built up this thing, I love the demos. I used a Tl072, didn’t have any 2134s. Both sides were doing the same thing, so on a hunch, I dug out a pedal I knew had one in it. This fixed the issue. Is there any reason the 072 wouldn’t work, is it the biasing resistor? The 2134 is now a 6.00...
