Unfortunately my tuner is not tuning as well.

Great news. Yeah the voltage drops from PS through 555, 47R, to relay all add up. I tested it at 9.0 and it worked, but most 9v supplies push 9.2-9.4v so it’s rarely an issue. Post #551 of this thread details the math if you’re interested.

Unfortunately my tuner is not tuning as well.

Have you flashed the new screen and tried it? I'm still wondering about those 12 pins in the JST connector of the screen. Make sure they aren't bent on the old screen. Just to be clear, can you confirm I'm understanding right what is and what isn't working? And also try the monitor mode and see...

    International Customers for Q-tune kit

Honestly the Peterson Mini is an amazing tuner, and for it's price, not only the best commercially available tuner but also the best value. It's what I'd use if I didn't have a Q-Tune. I was a loyal Turbo Tuner user for ~15 years, but the Peterson Mini is better. The No Screen / No Enclosure...

Unfortunately my tuner is not tuning as well.

Check to make sure no pins are bent in the 12 pin JST on the screen. The outermost pin is the one that is most easily bent, it goes to GPIO15 and controls the TB-BB relay.

Unfortunately my tuner is not tuning as well.

Does it tune in both TB and BB? But it only plays (passes signal) when in BB? So you can use it in BB? I'm staring at the signal path trying to understand where the signal goes and where it doesn't go (but should).

Unfortunately my tuner is not tuning as well.

Is that a question or a statement? Assuming it's a statement, that is odd. If in TB, the ONLY thing in the path are pins 8,9 of the relay (IC6) and the bypass relay IC5. If you hear both relays clicking, it should work.

Who's down for some SMD layouts?

I made it to 50 without needing readers. Now at 52, I can't cut my fingernails without them. I can't even look at a circuit board without my headband magnifier. Gettin' old sucks.

    Tuner not tuning

Quick readings on mine. One spot PS: 9.45v V+ side of R12: 9.08v Regulator side of R12, Vin: 8.25v Vin (same as above): 8.25v Vout: 5.0v I probed ground on the JST.

    Tuner not tuning

Right. Measure pins 1 and 3 of IC2. For ground, I'd probably NOT use pin2 (too easy to short out the regulator), but instead use a ground somewhere else on the board. There's 2 on the JST connector, or audio jack grounds are easy to grab. It sounds like the regulator could be bad.

    Tuner not tuning

Besides the 6002, this seems low to me. I'll check mine when I get home tonight. I have closely looked over your board and I can't find any mistakes. The ribbon cable is right. The diodes and Pcaps are orientated correctly (although some of the diodes are in the shadows). The resistors look...

    Tuner not tuning

Right. It's not tuning because the 6002 isn't working, because it doesn't have enough voltage. Probe around the junctions on this part of the circuit Specifically, check the voltages on the pins of IC7.

    All DIY-Boards

My ALL-DIY setup for leading music at church this morning. I guess I need to make my own DI and Bluetooth page turning pedal. I’ve seen DI kits, but not page turning pedal kits. Maybe @joulupukki can help me with that.😎

    Funbox Neptune Reverb/Delay

Funbox Neptune Reverb/Delay, based on Daisy Seed You can flash the Daisy to any of his 10 predefined modules, or download the software and built your own like @joulupukki did for Flick. I designed the UV for the Neptune Reverb/Delay The unique thing for ME on this build was the use of...

Acoustic Preamp Design - Preamp & EQ

Well, Aion does it, and my prototype does it. Seems fine. Maybe it’s not necessary.

Acoustic Preamp Design - Preamp & EQ

Yeah I did the same thing, copied L5 preamp. Take a look at the Traco tech notes, they aren’t exactly like the Aion schematic, they only suggest 1 inductor on the input, not both output legs.

Acoustic Preamp Design - Preamp & EQ

The biggest problem with pcb v3, is the 3PDT footprints, I had to modify the 3PDT's for them to fit. In hindsight, I could have simply drilled out the holes to 2.5mm, like this, now they fit. If anyone wants to built this, it all seems to work and with this modification shouldn't be any...

Acoustic Preamp Design - Preamp & EQ

I was checking the current because I'm using a Traco TEC 3-0923 DC-DC converter that takes 9vdc to 2 legs of +/-15vdc. It's rated for 100 mA per leg and 3W total. It's applying +/-15 v to the 4 op amps, or 30v across each. I have 1R resistors inline to measure the voltage and calculate the...

Acoustic Preamp Design - Preamp & EQ

Spent an hour playing it. First impressions, it has a TON of gain between gain (first) and volume (last), not to mention boost. Anyway loads of headroom. Drives me crazy when I’m plugged into a system and the sound guy wants more gain than I have. Sounds real clean with the TLO74s. I’ve got...

    What's on the workbench?

I've never seen this before, but damn that's smart. I'm assuming installing resistors/diodes vertically it's to make it easier to: a) probe b) remove Anything else?
