    Capacitor “omitted”?

Thanks for the quick response! Much appreciated!

    Capacitor “omitted”?

I am about to start building the Lot Lizard Octave Fuzz, and the BOM lists two 47p capacitors, stating that one is omitted on the Nano version and one is omitted on the Big Box version. I am assuming that I would only use one of these (either C3 or C8) in my build? And if I omit one, do I just...

    M800 - Hum

So I went through and removed all the sockets and soldered the J201’s directly to the board. Eliminated the hum, but also eliminated any sound whatsoever. I’m trying to get voltages on the J201’s, and not having any luck, so I’m wondering if I fried something when removing the sockets. I’ll...

    M800 - Hum

From GuitarPCB. Used some in another build and they worked.

    M800 - Hum

Did a little debugging. Reflowed some joints, and am able to get some sounds through, but still lots of hum. Will keep working, but open to any suggestions on areas to focus on.

    M800 - Hum

Thanks. I checked that, and was able to bias all of them (except Q4) to around 4.5v. Still just hum. When I touch the pots on the top side (the posts), it definitely changes the hum as well.

    M800 - Hum

Hello - I’ve just finished the M800 pedal, and am experiencing hum when engaged. I get a clean signal when bypassed, LED comes on when engaged, but no guitar signal and just a loud hum. I’m thinking maybe a ground issue, as when I touch the top of the Q1 transistor the hum is much louder.

Trimpot Adjustment - Son of Ben

And of course it turned out to be the simplest of solutions…needed fresh batteries for my DMM! 🤦🏼‍♂️

Trimpot Adjustment - Son of Ben

I’ve got to be honest in that I don’t really understand the biasing of the trimpots (first time for everything!). Good news is that the pedal is functional, and sounds pretty good to my ears, so perhaps no action is good action here. I have a DMM, and I place the black probe to ground (in one...

Trimpot Adjustment - Son of Ben

I'm about to begin this build, and also purchase the same Interfet J201's from Mouser. I also see that the pinout is different on the Interfet's from what is apparently "typical". Did these Interfet J201's still work OK for you? Or should I look to buy different ones?

Rainbows and Unicorns? PedalPCB Leprechaun Build

This one will be next for me to build. For the Expression Pedal jack, what type of jack is required? Just a typical stereo TRS jack?

SOLVED CheeseMonger Fuzz - Gated fuzz on Modes 1-3

UPDATE: Apparently using the correct potentiometers for your build makes a difference! :D I've replaced the incorrect pots with the correct ones, and it is working like a treat. Massive boneheaded error in the first place, which probably shows that I shouldn't try to build pedals when tired...

SOLVED CheeseMonger Fuzz - Gated fuzz on Modes 1-3

Hello! Just finished my CheeseMonger Fuzz build, and I am experiencing this issue. I get a very gated sputtery fuzz sound on modes 1-3. In fact, they all sound very similar. I only get a fuzz sound when the fuzz knob is dimed; otherwise it’s a fairly clean sound. Mode 4 has a full, loud fuzz...

    Learning more about schematics?

Yeah, my mistake. I knew it was a capacitor but wrote resistor accidentally. I’m still learning how all the pieces work together. I’m about to get a breadboard so I can experiment more. Understanding how different capacitor values impact the circuit is one thing I’m looking forward to learning.

    Learning more about schematics?

Looking for some help learning & understanding schematics. I am building the PedalPCB Cheesemonger, and realized that I was missing the 1N5 resistor (circled in yellow in the schematic). I've placed an order for one, but would love to know more about what it is doing, and what the impact would...

SOLVED Ginormous Fuzz - no sound - Trim Pot issue?

Problem solved. Lesson learned - attention to detail. Thanks @Laundryroom David for your eagle eye on catching the wrong transistor!

SOLVED Ginormous Fuzz - no sound - Trim Pot issue?

Yeah, I’ve got a BC548 ready to go (probably even ordered specifically for this build). Got to do some family time right now, but will be swapping it out later tonight. I’ll report back! Thanks!

SOLVED Ginormous Fuzz - no sound - Trim Pot issue?

OMG. I think you may have solved it? It looks like I put in a 2N5458 instead of a BC548.

SOLVED Ginormous Fuzz - no sound - Trim Pot issue?

Hi all - This is my second attempt at building the Ginormous Fuzz. It's a very minimal circuit, so I can't understand why I am struggling so much (there are only so many places it could go wrong). I have sound when bypassed, and the LED comes on when engaged, but I get no sound when engaged...
