Why is a diffused LED needed?

I am building a Cannon Fodder MKI. I see that two LED's are needed, a red and green 3mm. The BOM calls for using diffused LEDs. Any reason why it would matter if it's diffused or not? It isn't going to be seen once it is sealed up in the pedal enclosure, so I can't for the life of me figure out...

Muroidea pedal restock or other alternatives?

Woah, very nice! Thanks for the info. I am not familiar with that pedal but it sounds like it has some amazing break up based on some YT clips.

Muroidea pedal restock or other alternatives?

What is the PedalPCB version of it?

Muroidea pedal restock or other alternatives?

Thanks, I’ll take a look. I have a fairly good sized stockpile and wouldn’t mind trying another “flavor” of Rat. Edit: Triad looks like most of the same components and another switch. Great suggestion. I already am using the op07 on the rat anyway. May have to order a few of these to see which...

Muroidea pedal restock or other alternatives?

I have built a few Muroidea pedals, and want to build a few more. I've been on the wait list for roughly a month or so. I'm still a fairly new builder (roughly 6 completed pedals now) so I'm not sure how long the wait list typically takes, or how that process works (assuming I get an email...

Looking for pedal / mod recommendations for bass.

Thanks!! This forum is really helpful and I appreciate everyone that has chimed in. I know I have a lot to learn and look forward to digging in more on these recommendations.

Looking for pedal / mod recommendations for bass.

Thanks much, will check this out too!! I will also have to look at the frequency interchange, thanks for mentioning that. Nobelium seems to be a frequent suggestion so I'm probably going to have to add that. The other mentions are interesting as well.

Looking for pedal / mod recommendations for bass.

Thanks for the feedback, this is very helpful!! I will check out all the pedals you recommended and probably pick up a few. I've heard about the Nobelium, that seems to be the go-to.

Looking for pedal / mod recommendations for bass.

I have a pedal board that I use for electric (rhythm, and lead, occasionally a baritone), acoustic, and bass. It's pretty bulky, as you can imagine. On my board, I currently have: HX Mini Stomp for cabinet modeling and IR's, a compressor/boost (Corey Wong), a Proco Rat distortion/fuzz (PedalPCB...

    3d Printed Muroidea Pedal

Completely agree!! I can see ABS or ASA (or other "engineering grade" filaments) holding up really well, especially for the majority of people who baby their gear or aren't rough on stuff. I always put my pedal board in a nice bag when I'm not using it on stage, and otherwise it sits on my...

    3d Printed Muroidea Pedal

Thanks!! I am hoping to inspire folks to try this method out. HueForge is such an easy tool to use, too. The software has a pretty low learning curve, is cheap, and you don't need a fancy printer. I did the 3d printed the art on a $250 printer (Bambu A1 Mini). I still have several Hammond/125B...

    3d Printed Muroidea Pedal

For anyone interested, I went ahead and published all my 3d printed files (and instructions) here: https://www.printables.com/model/878929-muroidea-distortion-3d-printed-enclosure-125b-w-hu

    3d Printed Muroidea Pedal

Thanks!! It was a lot of fun coming up with the art and as far as I know I’m the first one to use Hueforge for this (software came out late last year and I was an early adopter). I love how thin the print is and yet you can do a lot with the coloring and really thin layers. It’s definitely worth...

    3d Printed Muroidea Pedal

Yes, the top layer is the “art” and is probably about 1.2mm thick or so. I used an e6000 glue to attach it. This method could be used on metal as well and I may try that to get the best of both worlds.

    3d Printed Muroidea Pedal

Lol, I would be worried about any pedal taking that kind of abuse! But yeah, it’s not going to be great if someone decides to dance on it.

    3d Printed Muroidea Pedal

Info about costs: I estimate the total cost of the 3d printed enclosure to be around $2-2.50. ASA filament costs about $30 per role and I estimate I can print about 15-20 of these from one 1kg roll. The filament art is probably less than $1 worth of filament because you only need a tiny bit for...

    3d Printed Muroidea Pedal

I just completed a 3d printed Muroidea / Rat clone, which is my 4th completed pedal. I did a few things different and I thought I'd mention it in case anyone is interested. 1) I used the TL071 Op Amp instead of the LM308. I didn't need to use the 30p capacitor but I soldered two wires to it...

Troubleshooting a Little Green Scream Machine

Thanks for confirming!! No more Amazon for IC's for me... Lesson learned, I'm sure many have gone down this path? :)
