    Building muffs for comparison

This is essentially what I've got on the bench currently- I went with Shika / Hizumitas and Bellum mkii / Fuzz War. Haven't boxed it up yet cuz I'm not totally sold on the Shika side yet

    DEMO Oroideous w/ clipping mod

No, it was one of LMS' limited run last October

    DEMO Oroideous w/ clipping mod

    Yep
  4. DGWVI

    DEMO Roboto

I actually just built another of these because it's been a while, and I still don't really care for it. I don't have any synths to run through it, but I can definitely see the textures it's capable of being put to better use there

DEMO A.O.G.Tron Divider (Octarock w/ mods)

Had someone commission this Octarock, but they wanted the Ringer and Bass Only switches from the Mu-Tron Octave Divider. The upper octave and dry signal are left stock, while I tweaked the lower octave to be more inline with most The applicable mods found here. I'll do a more detailed...

    DEMO Deucetone+ (DirtMonger MultiRat)

Another Rat, because that's all I know how to do. Built on a pair of DirtMonger MultiRat boards, and housed in. Deucetone-style enclosure. Brutalist knobs, cuz duh. Soft touch mini DPDT footswitches The right-hand side features a Soviet UD1408A, which is a slightly darker, less gainy take on...

DEMO boomking (MadBean BoomBoom / Brassmaster)

Got a video to demonstrate? Mine never seem to be overly compressed, but it is among the fuzziest of fuzzes

    DEMO boggle & brux

Made an updated, higher quality demo, so figured I'd share it here

    Ring Leader (modded PPCB Squidward)

Diggin the zigzag layout, and super neat innards 😻

    DEMO Acrobat (with separate volumes)

Only deviations form the build doc are R12/R13 which I've replaced with 12k and 22k, respectively. This was done to bring the volume of the dirt channel closer to that of the clean, while avoiding oversaturating the buffer preceding the filter. Rebiasing that buffer could probably gain a bit...

    DEMO Oroideous w/ clipping mod

Haven't tried it yet, but I'll run it through the Marshall and Mesa sims on the Opus after work today. I'm assuming it'll sound good, though- It's essentially just a higher gain Tube Screamer

    DEMO Oroideous w/ clipping mod

@MichaelW wanted to know my thoughts as he recently built one, and was also less than impressed, so here's this little rundown. Built to the doc except for the clipping diodes- I replaced one of the silicon clippers on the Rhythm side with an IR LED, and replaced both clipper on the Lead side...

    DOD FX5X Supra

That's normal behavior for this family of circuits. The easiest mod would be to add a smallish value resistor to lugs 2/3 of the Gain pot. Start with 10k and adjust up or down to taste

    Nutty Fuzzy not nutty

The resistors all look good. Hard to see some of the caps. Are you able to run an audio probe coming off of pin 7 of the 555? Mines modded, but here's a quick runthrough of my most recent build just showing the range and interactivity of the controls, in case that helps at all

    Nutty Fuzzy not nutty

I'm assuming it's the same without the expression pedal? Could we get some clearer photos of the solder side? And, you've said this is the second you've built with the same issue- are any parts reused from the previous attempt?
  17. DGWVI

    Nutty Fuzzy not nutty

You'll most likely have to upload it to YouTube first. Wiring lengths are kinda excessive, but look correct. Resistors looks fine. Which LDR are you using? And, just to be thorough- the backs of the pots under the board are insulated?
  18. DGWVI

    Nutty Fuzzy not nutty

There's really not a whole lot to get wrong with this circuit, so we can definitely get this up n running Would a better shot of the bypass wiring, and short video demonstration (focusing on sweeping the Sens, Threshold and Mix pots) be possible?

    Nutty Fuzzy not nutty

Your timing chip is wrong- NE555 won't work. I've had success with LM555, LMC555, TLC555, and ICM7555 Have you verified that the LED responds to picking dynamics? Also, the mix pot is wired what I'd consider backward- you get the full oscillator mix when zeroed out
