    Fuzz Face Clone

    That is a great idea…since I’m primarily a bassist you’d think I would have thought of that…

    Fuzz Face Clone

Through my old DSL 100, in the clean channel it’s rich distortion, in the Drive channel is total Heavy Metal…the Clone with the carbon resistors is slightly noisier than the SilliSmile, giving it an even more unhinged sound.

    Fuzz Face Clone

I used 108B in one and 108C the other with no discernible difference. My Clone has BC 183’s that are what was in my original Dallas Arbiter…

    Fuzz Face Clone

I posted earlier that I had inadvertently put a 100n in C3 on my SilliSmile, and it just sounds incredible...since I had made two, one with the correct value (10n) I compared them, and immediately changed the C3 in that one. As I had built an Old School Clone of my Fuzz Face, I went in and...

    Silismile capacitor mod

I have built two of these. Pretty close to my Fuzzface. But I made an inadvertent mod to C3, making it a 100n instead of 10n (misread the conversion chart). It is totally better sounding than my other one…fuller, richer, more responsive…what did I do right?

It is working well, I put reflective tape on the lid, did some adjustments to the gain and bias…planning on doing the Gain Mod from Big Monk to get it level…I also have another PCB and parts to make a Mk II…Probably do some experimenting with the LDR’s….

    Electrovibe w/ Big Monk Mods

I am so glad you posted the view inside your 'Vibe, because I am wondering about the optimum placement for the LDR's. I have seen three different approaches, including mine which was to face them straight up as indicated on the PCB.

    Electrovibe capacitors

I can see why you are a Well Known Member…being more of a musician than a technician, and being more comfortable reading a score than a schematic, am I correct that the Caps in question are C 11, 19, 27, and maybe 22? Thank you again Big Monk

    Electrovibe capacitors

I thank you for your reply…guess I need to pull and replace them. I’m kinda new to the process and ordered the parts quite a while ago…I appreciate you helping me in this learning process…

    Electrovibe capacitors

Did I make a BIG mistake by putting in 16 volt caps in my Electrovibe?
