I use this and a toothbrush, note that it is not regular WD40...

I like to run a scotch pad over my boards then wipe down with alcohol and a lint free cloth. After soldering I spray it with WD40 Electronics Cleaner and a small brush then carefully blot with a lint free cloth.

One thing to note is you don't have to squish the components down into it, just needs to make contact.

What temp you soldering at? I solder at 700-750F get on off quick and rarely an issue with Blu getting sticky and soft!
