    Rat Circuit Theory

    I find the opamp clipping makes the sound more bassy and sludgy, even when followed by diode clipping at a lower threshold. This can be compared by running at 18v instead of 9v, so the op amp rails don’t clip.

    I think my post 7 is still the cleanest implementation. You’d breake the signal path after R15 of each board and route those switches. I could draw it more clearly on the schematic. In this case, in parallel mode, IC2.2 of the lower circuit mixes the three signals at once (dry, delay1, delay2).

    Buffer. Just a buffer.

    If you have more pcbs handy to make another, I’d recommend fitting a 2pdt toggle for true bypass. I have one and I like it for testing purposes (testing like: does this pedal sound different with a buffer? Can I hear the effect of a buffer at this part of the chain?)

    @chongmagic is it the character of the delay tone (EQ, Modulation) or the presence of 4 heads that you like? I see lots of high remarks for the it, wondering if he nailed the tone just perfectly or if I should experiement with multi-head and a standard fv-1 delay sound.
