Solved! It was the 33nF capacitor being longer than the one in the layout. I pulled it out, bent the legs in a bit, and put it back in the right spot and now it's sounding great! Thanks guys

I breadboarded and then built a Yellow Hybrid Tonebender clone on stripboard based on this Dirtbox Layouts page. It seemed to be working fine on the breadboard, but now that I built it on stripboard something seems off with the "tone"/"treble-bass" knob. At full CCW/treble side it sounds good...

Marigold/Sola Sound Yellow Hybrid Tonebender, now on stripboard

Breadboarding the Marigold/Sola Sound Yellow Hybrid Tonebender! It sounds really good, but not as much gain as I expected? I used a BC107B in Q1, BC109C in Q2, ASY75 measuring at 130hFE in Q3, biased to about 2.6V.

Built a Paragon Mini with BA282 and 1S1588 diodes, "warm" mods, high gain right side low gain red side! I'm a little mad at myself for spending nearly forty bucks on "mojo" diodes, but uhh... well I did. That said, the pedal sounds really good! I have not played a "real" KoT to compare too but...

So I'm wanting to build a Chop Shop. I've read that it can be picky about it's J201 JFETs, and read in another thread that ideally you want Q1 to have an Idss in the 600-800 uA range and Q2 an Idss around 400-600uA. I have not worked with JFETs before, but I assume this means that I should buy...

They're pretty great! I *almost* feel compelled to swap all my non-square plugs to square plugs. If only they were a little cheaper...
