Couple questions for the amp builders out there

I've built 3 from scratch, 1 around a TMB18W chassis I got cheap including faceplates, 1 from a Kit (Ceriatone OTS20) And my main amp I got mostly assembled from Ceriatone and Installed my own transformers, an OTS 50. I use Ceriatone diagrams for my scratch builds as well as the TMB. Ceriatone...

    Jacques Pedals?

I just posted on the wishlist. It's not like we don't already enough TS variants

    Jacques Pedals?

Will there ever be any reverse engineered Jacques Pedals? They seem to be hard to come by, but highly revered.

    SOLVED Faulty Blue Breaker

Avoid flux. That's s bad idea on small boards. Follow the trace from the destroyed pad and tack the connection there. If it goes 2 directions, you'll have to add a jumper to bypass the lifted trace. Sorry I didn't download the image to provide more concise help, but tI think you can get this...

    General Tso's Compressor BoM?

Will the Tayda LDR's work in place of the GL5516? How about a diffused green or yellow LED? The clear ones are incredibly bright.

The Abyss - what"yellow" LED for optical ?

Is it the SMD? I don't see diffused yellow other than that. Edit; Never mind don't include "diffused" in the search https://www.taydaelectronics.com/led-5mm-yellow.html

    Pitch Witch Question

I have a yellow led but not diffused. I wonder what difference it'll make.

Cant read a cap value on the dark rift

I'm building a dark rift delay. On the board I got on the bottom left corner there are three caps. The bottom one is a 1 uf and just above that is a spot for another cap that looks like it has been obliterated by a Sharpie. We don't have build docs yet but does anyone know the correct value of...

    LED was working, now dead

Time to get handy with a meter. I see splices in the leads so check them end-to-end for continuity. With a meter set for diode test, test both directions across the led. It may actually light up a bit in one direction. I think you should expect like 1.7v one way (and a little light) and...

    Ticking noise with seahorse?

Daisy chaining the power supply effectively adds what ever filter caps are in each pedal to all the pedals. Also increases the current draw on the supply, so don't over do it. Great name "BurntFingers" . Perfect for a pedal builder forum.

    Caboose OverDrive

And BTW, The orientation of the transistors was not part of the problem. When the 4.5v VRef was restored, everything else came back to life.

    Caboose OverDrive

All fixed. Vref on Pin 5 of the IC was missing. I damaged the foil between the junction of the voltage divider resistors R1 and R2 and the IC. Sometimes I drink beer and watch Netflix while soldering.

    Caboose OverDrive

Mine sounds like a tube amp, those last few seconds before the caps discharge. I've swapped the IC and if I flip the 2n5088 I get voltages that are more normal for an NPN but the result is the same. Any ideas, anyone? If not, I'll wait for the build doc. I'm pretty good when I have a schematic. TIA

    Informant Overdrive

I use a label maker too. Just started using clear coat also. 3~4$ at Home depot and looks nice. Labels blend in a little more and won't peel so easily.

    Corduroy Fuzz Trimpots

Is there a "correct" way to adjust them? What voltage at what test point?
