Fixed! PedalPCB Revision Overdrive TWA Source Code Clone switch pop only when turning on?

Yeah the cjod is a ts808 clone with a few changes. I built mine using a hoarde howler PCB from effectslayouts. Funny thing with that one, when I run it at 12 volts, it sounds fantastic! Less hiss, more headroom, etc etc

Fixed! PedalPCB Revision Overdrive TWA Source Code Clone switch pop only when turning on?

Thanks for the insights! It's an odd design considering how many electrolytics and tantalums are in the signal path. I thought that was avoided nowadays because they can introduce noise. I also used the tc1044spca charge pump. I thought I had read somewhere that it was an improvement over the...

Fixed! PedalPCB Revision Overdrive TWA Source Code Clone switch pop only when turning on?

Now that I have the wires corrected, I find I really like the 4558d as the clipping ic. I like LF353p for the other chip. It is a bit noisier than my cjod clone. I am wondering if it's due to the input circuit. The transistors with the bite control are sort of a pregain no? Darlington pair...

Fixed! PedalPCB Revision Overdrive TWA Source Code Clone switch pop only when turning on?

Nice overdrive! I may still experiment with different chips. Huge pop only when turning on. No pop when turning off. Any ideas? Thanks!

I was wondering about swapping transistors since I can't find the b557b's at smallbear, stompboxparts.

    Bazz Fuss

Sorry for the late reply. I understand the logic of all top jacks. It just feels too symmetrical for me. Same with PCB layouts. I dislike whole lines of components. I love when there is a certain amount of symmetry. just not too much I guess. Human brains...

    B-Side Fuzz

Not trying to resurrect but BuddytheReow's suggestion helped me. I used a100k for Vol and b10k for Trim. The volume is still astoundingly loud and only useable the 1st quarter turn of the pot. It's less abrupt than with the b100k.

Ionosphere - Trust the Screenprint on the PCB or Schematic?

Hello! I built pedals for 15 years as a hobbyist and dipped my toe into semi professional. That scared me off and I took a 10 year break. A friend asked me to assemble some kits for him so here I am. I have an Ionosphere PCB062 Rev2. The parts values listed on the PCB do not coincide with the...
