    Another Schu-Tone DM-3

Doode! That is one beautiful build. Aesthetic is awesome, has that '87 T&C t-shirt vibe.

    Bulk buying components

Buying extra is the way to go. When I started out I'd put together a spreadsheet and order parts for 3 or more projects at once. Buying extra parts will also get you into the bulk pricing for parts, which lowers the cost. For expensive parts like electrolytic caps I usually look for deals...

SOLVED Part of PT2399 delay circuit responsible for repeats (Madbean Degenerator)

Not 100% sure, but seems to me that without feedback default would be one repeat. Makes me think there is something wrong in the feedback path. I'd audio probe everything around Q1.

    Digital Delay Recommendations?

Just bought a Nova for $80  Thanks to you all, super informative!

    Digital Delay Recommendations?

Thanks everyone. This has all been really helpful. I came to the right place! I'm going to grab a Nova. I live in LA so CL/offer-up are pretty plentiful.

    Digital Delay Recommendations?

Interesting. Have you played a Flashback? Seems like a lot of the features from the Nova ended up there but in a more mass market format.

    Deflector Reverb - noise

You can get a function generator app. Mine is called "f generator PRO", think it was like $3. You should test all the components through the signal path using the schematic. It will tell you exactly where the noise starts. I've had weird things like a bad cap or a cold joint on a...

    Digital Delay Recommendations?

Thanks peeps! I'm going to check these out. DD-200 was my first instinct, but I read that hitting the tap tempo sometimes switches it to loop mode? That sounds like a nightmare in a live setting. Any experience with that?

    Digital Delay Recommendations?

Always been a Boss DD-3, DD-7 (for the tap) user. I like clean long rhythmic delays. Thinking of looking at something different. Is there anything that is in the vein of the DDs but better I should check out? It would need to have tap tempo.

Workflow for building a big batch all at once

I bend the leads flat against the board and snip them before soldering. Just be careful with the snipping part. I once bought an expensive sniping tool that ended up being too sharp. It cut through the masking of the board and I had a bunch of resisters shorted to the ground plane. I switched...

    Deflector Reverb - noise

I've had weird things like this from a bad cap. I think tracing the signal through would be a good bet. You can use an audio probe or your scope with a signal generator. There's a few signal generator apps for the phone, you just need to make a headphone to 1/4'' adaptor.

    Eagle vs Kicad

Eagle isn't going to be around much longer. You will have to use (and pay for) Fusion in a few years. Most people moved from Eagle to KiCad or Diptrace when the news about Eagle dropped in 2020.

    Hyped Fuzz Mode Opinions

Thanks for the input! I'm going to skip the clean boost. I like the flat switches and can't get an on-on-on in one of those.

    Spatialist Reverb

Thanks everyone! Yes, they are awesome. Takes some planning because they fit spline pots. Also, the color on the indicators is dayglo orange. I originally tried having some orange in the graphic but it's not possible to match the knob color with laser print, too dull. Interesting. I...

    Spatialist Reverb

Thanks! The slam switch shorts pins 2 and 3 or the dwell control. So, pressing it maxes out the Dwell. It isn't very noticeable on the first few presets but from chamber on you can set the dwell low or in the middle and use the slam switch to engage long ambient sounds. It works really well...

    Spatialist Reverb

Thanks everyone! Totally agree, with so much to choose from and how different the controls are, it's either make it big or carry a crib sheet :ROFLMAO: Thanks, Gordy! I'm still getting um out every once in awhile.

    Spatialist Reverb

Thanks! I've been scheming for something special ever since I got those knobs. Rip away, my dude. Happy to send you a file if you need it.

    Spatialist Reverb

Thought this one came out cool. Standard FV-1 build but I added the slam switch. Needed to have all the pots off board to make everything more comfortable. I would have preferred a soft touch foot switch, but the client wanted the standard. Enclosure is no-film on a lightly sanded bare box.
