DEFX Petty Tears (SS/BS Pretty Years)

Well, well, well ... this is a pretty amazing box of sounds. The original from Smallsound/Bigsound was supposed to be a homage to the Thermionic Culture Vulture, a two-rack British, tube-powered device that offers two separate channels of distortion/overdrive featuring three distortion types...

    PPCB Acrobat Parametric Distortion

Here's my Acrobat with some changes. One thing is an added a master volume at the end of the circuit (A100k). Then, I borrowed @DGWVI changes to R12/R13 (12K/22k) to bring the volumes of clean and dirt channel closer together. And I didn't bother with the (useless) EXP input. (rant) Now...

    PPCB Deep End Fuzz

This is a very cool take on the SuperFuzz and it sounds amazing on bass. I got some 2N3707 and soldered them right in. Also some tantalums because I wanted to. The fat GE diodes are D18 from our favourite Ukrainian seller. And thanks to @Mentaltossflycoon I replaced R30 with a 500k trimmer...

    SheepyLove Texel V2

Oh, I didn't want to imply that the PCB itself is faulty, that was just about where the problem (or solution) was located: the footswitch and its board. I also used those foot switch breakout before on other builds and everything was fine. I'm sure I messed up something, but I just don't get it.

    SheepyLove Texel V2

This is such a great boost, a circuit that feels to have been "tweaked" to perfection. (by the wizard Chuck D. Bones, Celestial Engineering) The gain control goes smoothly from big and clean to hairy balls and even into fuzzy goodness. And all of that with the warm and wooly tonal bliss of a...

    PPCP Referee EQ

This is a pretty nifty EQ pedal for bass, combining a LPF, HPF (both with resonance) and a semi-parametric EQ for the mids. You can do all sorts of stuff to your signal, like tuning it to a specific room or doing cab sim things or (....). Not much else to say, really. It's delivers as promised.

    PPCB Caesar

No heat shrink down there. Nice job with the rivets, maybe too fancy for me. I tend to jumper things that should be connected but aren't.

    PPCB Caesar

Thanks and adding a wire (9V jack -> 5817) was the laziest way to solve the "huh, no power?" situation of the already boxed circuit ;)

    PPCB Caesar

A chorus/vibe pedal is not my main cup of tea, but everybody seems to like this one, so I just grabbed the PCB with my last order. And yeah, it sounds great. The "Blend" knob travels through interesting types of sounds. The LAG knob is cool, the switch pretty subtle. I had to double up on the...

    Parasit Higgs Particle Phaser

And the final build of my Parasit trilogy: the Higgs Particle Phaser. I'm not a really phasor guy and don't have a lot of comparison to make, but this thing phases alright and I like the sounds it produces. It can go slow enough and fast enough for my tastes and most importantly, it handles...

Has anyone built the Death by Audio Synthesizer album?

    Parasit Subspace Transmission

Next Parasit project, this one is a pretty special kind of noise maker. Subspace Transmission Fuzz. Of course, there is a fuzz in there, a pretty cool "comparator based fuzz" as they put it. The star of the circuit is a ISD1820 lo-fi record/playback chip that lets you record up to 20 seconds...

    Parasit Liberation Frequency Fuzz

I got some Parasit Studio PCBs for a change. They have some interesting stuff. This here is what they call the Liberation Frequency Fuzz. The name is a nod the band REFUSED and their masterpiece the shape of punk to come. This reference alone was reason enough for me to build this fuzz as I...

    Sheepylove DAFT Fuzz

Here's another one from the sheepload of signal destruction I got. The DAFT Fuzz. "It's thick, it's heavy, it's fuzzy. It's good for what dooms ya!" says the blurb and I totally agree. Great fuzz!!! It is supposed to sound like the Dunwich Amplification Fuzz Throne. Not faceplate this time...

    BSRI FZZ

The Baltimore Sonic Research Institute released the schematics of two early designs, this is their take on the SUPERFUZZ, called FZZ. It has a 3-band EQ and a blend. IN/OUT is like GAIN/VOLUME, I'd say. So, kinda in the HyperFuzz territory, it sounds heavy, fat and brutal. Really good stuff...

    SheepyLove Sacrificial Lamb & Frizzler

Of course, I got my share of sheepy love pretty much as soon as the shop was open. As I've gotten some faceplates a a bonus - thanks Dave - I bought something else than just plain enclosures for those 2 builds. First up, the Sacrifical Lamb which is supposed to sound like the Basic Audio...
