Yep, my experience as well. The tips on organizing the board according to "stamps" was very helpful when I was getting overwhelmed by ambitious projects. Otherwise there are YouTube videos that are much more informative and relevant for today's CAD programs.

The demos for this sound pretty dang rad. When this was released I immediately breadboarded the Trident pre-amp this is based on using Balmoral Electric's research. That alone is a killer boost/fuzz even without the transformer and pre-gain boost. Better than a standalone Univibe preamp imo.

Not just technique, but also enthusiasm. You have to really attack the strings and then you'll get pretty close to that sound with any bright amp.
