    ElectroVibe Modifications Thread

Hey Might-Monk! First off, hat tip to you and your contributions to builds and mods and of course, usually always being the first to respond to my threads. @fig too :) Did you special 250k and 500R pots for the external adjustments? Like smaller bodied pots or regular sized jammers with smaller...

SOLVED Help - EHX Small Clone Toasty after DC jack swap

Problem solved. Though at this point I have no idea exactly what solved it! A number of things came up as was routing through this thing. Truth be told, I had never turned this pedal on after I bought it. So I don't even know if it worked in the first place. 1) One of the legs of the C1M pot...

SOLVED Help - EHX Small Clone Toasty after DC jack swap

That red wire was for the 9v battery. I removed that. I think I found one issue. Tracing the output of the 4558 I find a small cut in the Trace between R21 and R1. No continuity. But if I jumped them together now I get bypass signal and signal with power. However, no chorus effect. Oddly...

SOLVED Help - EHX Small Clone Toasty after DC jack swap

    There’s only 2.7v on pin 8 of the JRC4558. Maybe it’s bad?

Yes but I switched the wiring too. So it should work, no?

SOLVED Help - EHX Small Clone Toasty after DC jack swap

Hello! I have an EHX Small Clone that I am switching out the old positive tip 2.1mm jack for a negative tip Boss style PSA jack. I did the switch and the pedal will power up but I'm getting no signal. The pedal works in bypass mode with or without power plugged in. But, when I engage the...

    Electrovibe Deadish - Part Trois

I love this thing! When I have it working it sounds fantastic. Really cool tones. Fabu work by PedalPCB. I think I’m insulating them well. I have a piece of doubles over black electrical tape under each pot. I can try something else. I’m not tightening things down too much as far as I know. I...

    Electrovibe Deadish - Part Trois

Unsolved! I boxed it back up and poof the vibrato channel dies again. There is an appreciable volume cut overall to the chorus channel too. I’m absolutely flummoxed how this thing works beautifully out of the box, but as soon as I box it back up then it craps put. 🤨🧐

    Electrovibe Standby Switch

We’ll I’ll have to shelve plans because the pedal is dead again. Time to resurrect Electrovibe Deadish part Trois again. 🧐

    Electrovibe Standby Switch

Howdy! I was wondering if it would be possible to install a standby switch on the Electrovibe? The purpose would be to save the bulb from burning out of the pedal is plugged in all the time. My thought is similar to an amp with standby, it’ll have 9V supplied to it all the time, but when it’s...

    Electrovibe Deadish - Part Trois

I think so? I sprayed it with contact cleaner. Is there a better way?

    Electrovibe Deadish - Part Trois

No idea but I took it apart again and touched up a few solder blobs and did some more testing and it works fine again. So weird.

    Electrovibe Deadish - Part Trois

I did originally but they were defective or something went wrong. I most likely damaged them.

    Electrovibe Deadish - Part Trois

I love this audio probe thing! I sort of figured out how to use it but I'm not certain I know the best way to use it. I marked up some observations. I tried measuring the LEDRs and two of them were nice and loud but the others were weak. I may not have marked them 100%. I checked out the...

    Electrovibe Deadish - Part Trois

Hello fine friends! Well I don't know what the heck is up now. I had the pedal working great, I boxed it up and even posted a build report. Then all of a sudden it just went to crap. The only mods I've done is to replace R4 with a 2M2 implemented with some sockets. What I have now is signal in...

    Electrovibe (Big Monk)

I'm telling you I like the Electrovibe better than the Good Vibes. Something about it sounds a little more 'organic' either solo or with all of the other layered effects. It's like it's not trying as hard to be what it is. Where the Good Vibes feels like it's trying :p To me they sound different...

    Electrovibe Build

I added the sockets after boxing and after it was demonstrated to have sweet sounds. Once I socketed in the 2M2 then chorus went bye-bye. I like the idea of gain and offset on the outside. That's an interesting tweak! I know this isn't a big problem, signal loss, so I'll get it figured out...

    Electrovibe Build

Cool pedal. Not an easy build but really fun. I tried putting a 2M2 into R4 and it totally killed the chorus output (effect and sound), oddly enough not the vibrato channel, so I’m going back to the 47k. Seemed kind of weird since that was a recommended value. I probably dorked something else...
