    Mojotone 5F2-A Tweed Amp Kit

Beautiful!! Really nice work and a great result for a first go at it! I'm working on a Mojotone Princeton and waiting for the custom cabinet. Hopefully not much longer. There were some mistakes in the Mojotone documentation and I wasn't thrilled with the quality of the small parts. Next time...

SOLVED Any Amp Experts??? Mojotone 5F2A Issues...

It's a long shot, but the cathode wire and output wire are touching, which could mean a bit of capacitive coupling.

    Bench utilities

A compact function generator would be pretty handy.

    Solder fume extractor

What's perfect for back lighting is a reverse-engrave material, where there's a clear layer on top and a masking layer on the back that can be engraved. I've done that, too, and it's pretty awesome.

    Solder fume extractor

It's a dual layer plastic meant for laser engraving signs. The indicator is a frosted acrylic that can be laser cut. Thanks for the kind words! It took a lot of time and work to get it all dialed in. Dude. Seriously. Yes. But go ahead and do one that can handle up to 3 channels. I haven't seen...

PPCB chips the brain of the bypass switching. Works great!

    Solder fume extractor

I have that FA400 and it's useless. I've pondered just getting a desk fan just to keep the fumes directly out of my face.

    Which do you prefer?

I voted A because it makes wiring easier.

This Week on the Breadboard: ROG Tri-Vibe

I liked this one, but I seem to remember it had a lot of hiss. Always wondered about swapping the OTAs for THAT Corp VCAs but never got around to trying that.

Count me in for a test unit.

    School me on SMD Components

For JLC, I'd recommend switching over to EasyEDA. You can just take the parts directly from their library and it generates the BOM and pick and place files they need. There's a bit of a learning curve, but I found it well worth it.

@Cabintech , any idea on what the unit cost will be?

Opamps for Dummies - part 3

Really appreciate all the effort you put into these write-ups, Chuck! I'm curious what you think about scaling those resistor values with respect to low-noise performance. FET-input opamps need almost no input bias current, but how do you weigh using a very large resistor to supply it...

Digital BBD concept looking for comments and beta testers

My input would be to include the voltage regulators on the device, even if it ups the cost. It's a good tradeoff for convenience. I also like the idea of jumpers or some other setting to quickly configure the module for different applications (parallel, series, stereo, etc.).

DEMO NPD! New Pickup Demo - Sunday Hand Wound Jazzmaster Pickups

Sounds great! Tim engineered some '63 Firebird pickups into Rickenback cases for me years ago and they came out amazing.

You could try replacing the gain switch with a C5K pot for a bass/girth control.
