Procastinator / Dr Q / Orange Squeezer No Sound

Okay, this gives me something to work on. Thank you so much!!

Procastinator / Dr Q / Orange Squeezer No Sound

Gotcha! So I should get some sort of manageable audio signal no matter where they're set? If that's the case, then I guess I need to just use a probe to trace the signal? I've only done that once or twice, so I'll take any tips I can get. Like which transistor leads should give me audio? And...

Procastinator / Dr Q / Orange Squeezer No Sound

Well all of them! They each have a trimmer pot, but I'm having a hard time figuring out which transistors and which leads I should be measuring. Thanks for the recommendation!! I'm gonna order it now so maybe in a couple days I'll be able to get some more accurate readings.

Procastinator / Dr Q / Orange Squeezer No Sound

Right, I added that after I had tried a bunch of stuff and was thinking that the biasing might've been the problem. But I definitely tested it a bunch beforehand without that wire there. So for biasing, I need to get 4.5 V coming off the collect lead, right? And if the flat side of the...

Procastinator / Dr Q / Orange Squeezer No Sound

Right, I should've mentioned that. That just goes to the other terminal on the same jack in order to short the audio input. I read on other forums that you need to do that before biasing.

Procastinator / Dr Q / Orange Squeezer No Sound

I've been trying to build a 3-in-1 pedal that has a PedalPCB Procrastinator going into a Tayda Dr Q autowah and then into a Tayda Orange Squeezer compressor. I currently have two problems. There is no sound when the pedal is on, no matter where the knobs or trimmer pots are set. I also can't...

    Silent UniCab

So clearly it's been a while, but I'm finally finding time to get back into this build, and something I found today is that pin 12 on the TL074 sounds fine, but pin 13 sounds like trash, all the pins on the punch and gain knobs are silent or sound crappy and I think everything else after that is...

    Silent UniCab

Thank you! Should the power to the chips be about 9V?

    Silent UniCab

Thank you so much for posting this!! If I'm thinking about this correctly, does this mean I should be able to hear signal from all pins of the TL072 except 4 and 8, and all pins of the TL074 except 4 and 11?

    Silent UniCab

Hey guys, I'm building a UniCab and am having problems getting it to... well... make any sound at all really. I started tracing the signal with my audio probe (something I'm very new to) and I think the TL072 or TL074 might be the issue. Can anyone tell me which pins I should be able to hear...

Glory Hole just makes static when engaged

It was the switch! I put in a new one, and it works! The audio probe is the only reason I found it, so thank you so much for telling me about that and explaining how to make/use one. So much appreciated!

Glory Hole just makes static when engaged

Okay, I made the probe, and I get how it works. I'm just not sure what I'm listening for... I have music playing off my phone going into the pedal, and when I touch the probe to the input jack, it sounds super great. Then I start moving forward in the circuit, and it's pretty hard to find a good...

    Neurocyton > UniCab in a 1590XX

Thank you so much! Okay, so how does breakout board work? Oh my gosh, I did not know that page existed. That's so helpful to have those wiring diagrams for all the 2-in-1 options! The only thing is an FX loop version is not included. 😕 I feel like it should be pretty simple though, right?

    Neurocyton > UniCab in a 1590XX

That exists? That would be perfect! How does that switch work? Is it a certain type jack? Can you send a link to one?

Thank you so much! This page will be really helpful!

Glory Hole just makes static when engaged

Okay, sounds easy enough. Should I just try that for the whole circuit? Okay, gotcha. So it's like a direct line to the amp, and then you touch it to different points in the circuit starting at the beginning to see how far the sound continues through the circuit? So do you have a cable plugged...

Glory Hole just makes static when engaged

This is probably a stupid question, but what does reflow mean? Maybe another stupid question, how does an audio probe work?

Glory Hole just makes static when engaged

It was a while ago, but I'm about 90% sure it was from BYOC.

Glory Hole just makes static when engaged

The LED was in backwards. I discovered by grabbing a new LED and touching its leads to the leads of the one in the circuit, and the new one actually turned on when I touched the - to the + and the + to the -. So I took out the old LED and put it back in backwards and now it works. So the LED is...
