“How did they make that sound” thread

I believe that clip above is from around '93 (it is, it says so in the title, duh), so could be before he started using the DHP-55, but he apparently did use it on Today....

This is what I hear repeated thru the intro. It's not anywhere else in the song. I don't think an analog octave down could accomplish that. It sounds like one of these digital harmonizers was programmed on a note by note basis to output this melody. Crazy stuff.
