1/2w, 1/4w, 1w

When it comes to resistors, if the part requires a 220K or 1M, etc, what value do I use? 1/8, 1/2, 1/4, 1M? Or does it matter. I'm putting a Sabbath Distortion pedal together, and I'm not sure which one to use, other than a 220K. Or which type of capacitor (polyester, Cermanic, etc.) Thanks for your help.

The only resistors we use on PedalPCB projects are 1/4W (main one) & somtimes 1/8W when there is space requirements. The documentation will usually say. Can also see the smaller footprint in the PCB for 1/8W.
The Sabbath board uses 1/4W resistors

As for capacitors the rule of thumb is make sure voltage limit is double the power the pedal will take to be safe. 35V is a good one for size and it will cover 18V pedals.
Usually pF range is MLCC/ceramic, nF range is box film, uF range is electrolytic. Can use whatever you like apart from the polarised electrolytics, need to be careful with polarity.
