The compact pedalboard journey continues. On these ones I tried to be artistic. My skills are quite basic, but it was fun to try.
The slow gear is a disappointing pedals to a lot of folks. It’s definitely finicky. But most of the recognizable timbre of an instrument is in the attack, so this can be a powerful tone shaping utility. I was able to coax violin, synth and harmonica tones out of it.
When I put the desolate fuzz in front of it, I had a more consistent dynamic range, which made it easier to dial in the Slow Gear’s sweet spot.
The greengage is… good? I like some YATS, sue me. What surprised me is how much I liked the diodes off setting. I love this Tango Green enclosure. Got it from Stomp Box Parts.
For the first time, I decided to record a video and put it on zee YouTubes. I show the slow gear in action, but didn't turn on the greengage. But that’s ok, you probably know how it sounds.
