2-in-1 pedal build with ABY capabilities

I'm planning to put two preamp pedals inside a single enclosure. I want to be able to select either pedal A or pedal B as well as both in parallel while only using a single input and output jack.
So far I'm thinking of wiring the input and output jack to both pedals' bypass switches. Then instead of wiring the switches for true-bypass I just leave the bypassed pedal's input and output floating. I believe this shouldn't have any effect on the signal when only one pedal is turned on. But what happens with both in parallel when passively split and mixed like that? I'm guessing each pedal only receives half the input signal while the combined outputs double the output volume. Is it as simple as that?

Have a look at the wiring for the duophase. It’s easier than me explaining it. Is that what you’re looking for?

Not quite. Those are wired in series but I'm looking to run my pedals in parallel. Some further information: I want to build two Sunn Beta Lead preamps and put them inside a single enclosure as sort of a two-channel preamp pedal. Just like the original amp I also want to be able to run both channels in parallel. Now I'm wondering whether it's really as simple as splitting the guitar signal at the input jack, running a wire to each PCB in parallel and combining the output signals by wiring each PCB output to the tip of a single output jack. It seems to me that's what's going on in the Sunn Beta Lead schematic.
