3D Printed Resistor Tester Stand

This is really cool... you could argue it's unnecessary, I'm sure, but people should do whatever makes the process more enjoyable for them. I have a 3D printer and would love to give this a whirl.

Just give me a little more time, I've got a few home projects going all at the same time.

I had a transistor lead former years ago that was basically just a small solid block with three holes spaced 0.1" apart.

All you had to do is push the leads into the holes, perfectly formed every time...
What a simple and clever approach!
 
I could test with a DMM, but I also have a transistor tester that can test other components.

I test every single component. I bend the leads the same way I would anyway, stick it in the ZIF, and bend the leads on the next one while the results display. It goes really quick, and I populate the board while I'm doing it.

Also, if I tested a component for some other reason, like a breadboard or I measure too many, I know the ones in the bag with bent leads have already been tested.
 
I did the resistor tester on my anycubic kobra 3 in PETG. No probs at like 150mm/s. Simple enough design.

I printed up a razor guillotine for chopping up repeatable lengths of shrink tubing:


(I actually did this one: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4437039 . But I don't recommend it: the length stop isn't well implemented. The one above looks to be better thought out.)
 
Yeah I get that people like testing things to be sure, but if I didn't trust the manufacturer to print the write value on the resistor, I just wouldn't buy from that manufacturer. Checking one or two here and there is fine, but if I had to test every single resistor I used I would be up all night without even firing up the soldering iron.
Ahhh that's what I'm doing wrong.

Kidding aside. You're not just a hobbyist, so your method of operations makes sense. Gotta keep those TBers happy with the latest SushiFX delicacy!

I loved the idea of it, then got to the length-stop comment...
I bet you could perfect it, or come up with something even better.
