A question for those that have a zoom cdr70+

I grabbed a cdr just to have a large selection of effects to play around with. Ive kind of fallen in love with the “drive echo” pedal, and was wondering what one might use to replicate that sort of touch sensitive drive in a pedal or pedals that I could build.

I know its based on the maestro echoplex, and I see the belle epoch come up as an option. If you were building this, how would you proceed? A preamp into a hydra? It reminds me a bit of the beholder that I build, with less fuzz and more OD. Which is perfect for what I’m trying to do.
