Here's my second time building one of these. Univibe is my favorite effect but my Photon Vibe is down at the moment (when will they be in stock so I can redo it? I have an enclosure painted and drilled waiting for it but something is wrong with my board and the LFO doesn't work) so this will have to do. The LFO in the Abyss isn't the best but it's better than nothing. Off to a great start!
Last time I built one of these I learned about the intensity control stopping the LFO when its set too low or too high. I did a bunch of research and found a guy on TGP mention he messaged EQD and they said that is a result of the design of the LFO. Anyway I fixed it by putting a 2.7k resistor on pin 1 and pin 3 of the intensity control to prevent it from going all the way CW or CCW. Here is how I did that
Mounted in the enclosure it's like this
And the gut shot. I used tantalum caps for the LFO 1u's. I really like these plastic power jack sockets I got from amplified parts. Love my Switches has them too. They feel so much more secure than the thin nut these jacks come with
I'm trying to step up my paint game with contrasting colors. I'm happy with how this one came out
