I'm looking at the schematic of the Chauffeur Drive. I link it:
https://docs.pedalpcb.com/project/Chauffeur-PedalPCB.pdf
I never build it. But maybe you could try to put a 50k or a 100k pot in serie to the R5 22k.
I'm experimenting something with emulatore, but you should try it somehow to see what really happen.
Then somebody could tell me it this has sense.
First option:
Replace R5 with: 22k + 150pf (in series).
And in parallel to that: a 22k + 1M (maybe a log) 500k pot. At minimum you should get about the same gain of the stock schematic, at maximum you will have more gain, more or less focus on mid frequency, or maybe mid/low frequency.
Second option:
Replace R5 with: the side going to the inverting input op-amp with the central lug of a 500k linear pot.
Lug 1 with a 22k resistor going to the R5 side going to he output op-amp side.
Lug 3 with 22k + 150pf (50pf for a little higher frequency) going to the R5 side going to he output op-amp side, too.
I hope I didn't suggest rubbish.
Anyway, here there's another verified Fat Control layout, but smaller, if you want it:
Demeter Fat control *mini*. Also verified :)

And I have another unverified layout on protoboard drawn by me, if you need something smaller (11 x 10).
