Aion Lumitron (mutron) not functioning properly

Hello!

I’m working on a mutron clone from Aion. I’m pretty new to this. This is my first foray beyond basic boost and drive circuits.

Currently when I click on the pedal I am getting a pretty significant drop in volume even with the volume and gain (“sensitivity”) pots cranked. It does appear that I’m getting some sort of filtering but with no envelope/sweep to it. When I switch between the low/band/high pass there is a slight but noticeable change in tone/filter. The peak pot does seem to effect the frequency of the filter notch and the gain pot is also functional though also needs to be dimed along with the volume pot to get reasonable signal. The up down switch doesn’t appear to do anything as there is no sweep. Any ideas where I should poke around? I did notice that the pedal seems to only be drawing 5-6 volts. Thanks you!

Edit: sorry I can add pictures of the build when I get home. New here 😅

Reflow your solder joints. Some of them look cold or not enough solder. See if you can trim down some of those some more for, you know, neatness. I’ve got this board in my backlog, so I’m hoping you get things working and post a build report.

+1 to reflow, some cold joints. Ideally you should get some solder to flow through to the other side.
(more flux helps this).

Do you get any LED blinkage? If the sense LED isn't doing anything, the LFO isn't doing the thing.

Did you play with the bias trim at all?

I don't remember if it's the case with this effect in particular, but some of these pedals have a _very_ narrow bias margin where the effect works.

I did notice that the pedal seems to only be drawing 5-6 volts.

I don't know what this means -- how (and where) are you measuring this?
