Aion Termina (Timmy) to Jan Ray?

And I just noticed that the Jan Ray is almost identical to the Lovepedal Super Stevie! I wonder who copied who?
I saw on a forum somewhere the guy from Lovepedal said that the guy from Vemuram was his tech in Japan for 10 years before starting Vemuram

Well, a year later, I've finished the pedal. It's quite good, but not amazingly good. I don't have a Timmy, so I don't know how it compares. I think it's going to be a keeper, but not first string. I did get the TSV808 PCB, so will compare it to that once done.

Funny, I did an opamp comparison and wound up preferring the Timmy opamp (LM1458)! The differences were subtle, if there were any.

I realise I may have been a bit of a damp squib in poo-pooing your idea initially. But what you are doing is how we all learn about this stuff and it is to be encouraged! It's fun, it hurts no-one and you find out that there are a million ways to achieve similar results. Once you find out how to tweak things it becomes addictive and "stock" becomes a dirty word!

Had the chance to play both, side by side (I have an original Timmy v2, a friend of mine had the Vemuram), the differences are so minimal that two identical timmy would be equally different by components tollerance

I've been looking at differences between Tommy III and AionFX Termina (Timmy v2). Initially I thought the only differences would be the switch arrangement (internal, external, etc). But looking at the values, there are quite a bit of differences in values. The OP compares the Termina to the original Vemuram Jan Ray. But haven't found one that compares the Termina (v2) to the Tommy III.

I'd like to build a Timmy, just not sure which PCB to start with. PPCB is out of stock. Honestly I don't care about the switch arrangement, but there are a number of differences and I'm not sure which way to go.

I will say that the op amp selection, while the newer v3 uses the LM1458N and the original mostly uses JRC4559D (NJM4559D), comparing the 2 chips, the JRC is a far superior chip. Makes me think the LM1458 is a cost cutting measure.
