IMG_5370.jpeg IMG_5371.jpeg So this mornings flavor is Uncle Ted’s secret. This an aionfx board based on the dinosaural opa-101. To my ears most overdrives sound about the same. I still build them in hopes of finding something my ears can hear differantly. This one has promise. The first portion of the drive pot is pretty normal overdrive up until about noon. From noon to 3 you get into some nice OD/ distortion sounds. After that Its almost like a fuzz where its kinda sputtury and splatty. Its not a fuzz it just has some of the fuzz tendencies if you crank the drive. This will get a spot on the board and we will see how long it lasts. This is the tayda chromium finish. It looks awesome. Its hard to get a good pic of though.

A trick to help shooting chrome or very reflective surfaces is to use white card or paper as reflectors. And avoid hard light sources. You have to shoot at an angle or else you'll see yourself reflected in the thing you're photographing. One way around that is to either use a light tent or shoot from a crack between reflectors. I use a softbox as a light source but obviously not everyone will have access to one so using thin paper or a white sheet as a diffuser can help.

Usually for something like an effect pedal a pair of white cards around A4 size should help enormously.

Cool build BTW!
