Troglodyte Reverb Build Example 1.jpg
First non dirt pedal! Really amazing layout and design by @Aleph Null,

The layout made it very easy to assemble and the build docs provided with the PCB were very informative (mods + wiring diagrams too!)

The design leverages the core Belton 3 + PT2399 really well into a set of interactive controls with loads of "sweet spots"

Few notes
  • Tone tilt control is great with down-tuned guitars
  • Controls have curated range like the best Boss pedals, where most of the time I have it 'always on' as my basic reverb but with a few turns things can get crazy
  • If you stack it with other delays it imparts a faux multi-tap space echo flavour
  • Also, with the dwell, pre-delay, saturation, and sway controls, it makes for a very controllable reverb before distortion
  • Really good for any genre with "post" in the name
  • Separate dry and wet controls are very nice
Only mod I stuck with was upping the Sway control to 10K (RV1 = 10k)

Illustrator and Tayda UV print for the graphics

Looking at the other Trog builds, my soldering & offboard wiring is most definitely lacking 😭 will try to improve in that area
