Aligning PedalPCB drill template with Tayda drill template

Hi all,

everyone else seems to wrap their head around this stuff more easily than me judging by the forums. I'm trying to work out how to line up the PedalPCB drill template with the Tayda drill template for the Chop Shop v2.

I've used the Tadya drill template from this post and then mapped the co-ordinates in Illustrator (shown as the red circles in the attached picture):

However, when I overlay the PedalPCB drill template from the Chop Shop webpage (the black rings in the picture) they don't line up. I had originally imported the PedalPCB drill template PDF into Illustrator and then dragged it onto the Tayda drill template. But either as a simple copy/paste or when scaled down a little (as in the current picture) they don't line up.

Can someone help me understand what I'm missing? Is one source more accurate than the other here?

Cheers

I would go into the tayda section for predrilled PPCB enclosures they used to sell and check the datasheet. These have the coordinates in them that can help you put them into the drill service tool

So here are the basic spacing for pedal pcbs. This would follow the 3 knob template and you just add the led and the switch. Your y coordinate would be the same as the lower knob. The x I would measure from the center of the lower pot hole to the center of the switch hole. If I were to guess it would be -20mm. Robert is usually very consistent so I would say if that’s not accurate it’s within 1/2mm. When in doubt always measure from the board itself.
