Are we allowed to play acoustic guitar on this forum?

I love Santa Cruz guitars, never owned one but understand the draw. They’re really evenly voiced. I have a ‘64 j50 I got years ago cheap that I play a lot and a Harmony sovereign acoustic that I use for picking. I have always had a thing for a Martin HD28 though. Every time I’ve picked an HD28 up I’ve loved it.

Here are my two. Both from 1977.

The cherry Guild was my mother's. She bought it brand new in Reistertown, MD. I've had it for a number of years now. When I was in high school the neck glue dried out probably thanks to Florida humidity and the neck came fully out of the body. My physics teacher and I glued it back in with wood glue in his classroom and it's been solid ever since! My mom passed away 3 years ago so I keep this one close now. All mahogany, very warm sounding. It's an heirloom now ❤️.

The Takamine was also built in 1977. It's one of their lawsuit Martin copies. The body is all Maple, so it's very bright sounding, opposite end of the spectrum from the Guild. I found it in my local guitar center for $300. They had for some reason thought it was from 2004 and priced it accordingly so I snatched it up without hesitation. It plays effortlessly.

I really really enjoy a tale that ends with Guitar Center losing.

This is my Breedlove Oregon Concert (spruce top, myrtlewood back+sides, maple neck) that I picked out about 8 years ago. Great sounding guitar, nice bright responsive tone. It doesn't get played as much as it should as I'm more of a an electric player, but every once in a while when I get to thinking about selling it I give a strum and say "nope"!
