Asymmetric footswitch position

I'm making a pedal in a 1590B enclosure, and the LED will be next to the footswitch.

I'm considering offsetting the FS to the right so the LED/holder will be a bit less off-center. I'm not worried that it'll be unbalanced, it's not going to be that close to the right edge. Just a bit. Maybe 1 cm off-center.

And yet, this is rarely done.

What do you think?

You could use a bigger LED or even amp jewel like petty John use to balance out the aesthetics?

My “Gaussian Phurr”.

It’s got a Parasit Flash Filter Deluxe board in it that was meant for 1590BB, but I think it should’ve been designed for 1590N1. So I made it fit.

You could get rid of the led all together and add a light plate, add a clear shaft pot with light switch, or add a foot switch with led ring

All good suggestions, but I'm keen to get the pedal done so it needs to be made of things I already posses right now. I will grab some footswitches with built in LEDs though, that's the best answer for this question I think.

I'll probably just go with the standard/boring configuration to get this pedal done, but the question is interesting anyway.

I wanted a few more things from Tayda so I added a couple of "illuminated" footswitches and made an order. Tayda gets stuff to me very fast, should be here mid-week. I can build most of the pedal now and then start on a different one if I need to keep on working.

Great, The nice things with the switches from tayda is that if you end up not wanting the led it’s just an add on to the foot switch and can come off

I voted yes. It’s not something I’m inclined to do often, but I do appreciate some good footswitch asymmetry

I say you can build stuff however you want as long as it works as intended- for example, I've been building my effects upside-down for the last 3 years.
