First full DIY build that didn't come from an Aion kit. I'm simultaneously really proud of it, and kicking myself on some of the mistakes I made. The pedal sounds great, and I only had a few extra hours of troubleshooting after testing it for the first time. So overall it was a great experience.
However, as you'll see I really did not take drilling the holes in the enclosure nearly seriously enough. The LED is off center, I had to wire the pots because I made the pot holes too close together and they wouldn't go through in their natural position on the PCB. The I/O jacks are an absolute travesty, input jack was too close to the screw hole enclosure so it's off kilter, and output jack was too close to the back cover so it doesn't completely sit flush when closed.
The best decision I made was getting a PCB for the footswitch, because my initial attempt at using resistor leads to wire for true bypass were a nightmare. Now things look nice and tidy, will probably never go back to wiring it manually.
My one other issue with the build is that on the documentation, it calls for a B100K pot for the volume. This was a red flag to me, and I wish I would have listened to my gut because it really seems like it's supposed to be a A100K (logarithmic pot). The volume knob is basically unusable because the tiniest adjustment makes it way too loud. I will likely go back and fix this in the future, unless I'm wildly off base here.
I do love the way the cassette art came out considering this was my first attempt at design like this. I made it in MS Paint the way God intended. Used some clear vinyl sticker paper and it printed out great. I did notice on another build I'm working on that the paper turns white when applying clear coat, which was fine for this one since it's a white enclosure, but may cause problems on other colors. What do you guys use when sealing your pedals?
