Hi everyone!

I read I can changue the input Cap of 0.1uf with a 0.022uf to get less flabby bass.

My question is If I can use a switch to changue the cap

With an On/On switch??

It´s a kit of tubetown.

Thank everyone

I hate to answer a question with a question but where are you planning on putting the switch?

For my 5e3 build I kept the normal channel stock and modded the bright channel. That way between the two channels and the option to jumper them i can cover a ton of ground.

I want to have the option to changue. Maybe this is what im looking

I'm just starting a 5E3 build, so ... subbed!

So much info at Robinette's site!

I'd definitely go for the 3-way switch — I mean, if you're already going to the trouble of having the switch in there, may as well exploit it to its fullest potential.

Hi again guys, I´m looking to one 5F6A now.

you know if changue the tone stack in this way could be a good idea?

I will use it with 1x12 or 2x12.

thanks

I also saw I can use the AB763 tone stack in a 5F6A build, could be a good a idea?
From what I understand about tweeds, you'd be taking a relatively mid-forward circuit (tweed) and turning it into a mid-scooped one. Why? Just build a non-reverb AB763 if you want that tone stack.

@Feral Feline - That website is a treasure trove! I built a 5E3 head last summer and went back with a few RR mods: Lead Channel and the 3-way NFB mod. Those two alone turned it from a one trick pony into a highly versatile tone machine!

I want the breakup of a tweed if I turn Up and if I turn down i want the clean tone of a black :/

From what I understand, the tweed tone stack (even a TMB) is not equal in execution to an AB763. The Bassman uses a cathode follower tone stack, which (allegedly) has richer harmonics than the plate-driven tone stacks of the BF amps. Also, something something "insertion loss".

Here's the link I'm summarizing from:

So maybe is better build AB763 or just changue the tone stack like here.

thanks

That's what I'm doing with my build ... well, the head part. Haven't entirely mapped out what mods I want. First thing is just to build it mostly stock, then tinker later.

Worked on it tonight while a bud worked on his 5F6. I broke two drill bits trying to drill the ears for head-mounting. 😾

Offtopic question.

Tonal diferences between this two amps?

Thanks
