Bathtub Reverb??

Just finished up the build and before I post in the trouble shooting section I figured I would ask a few questions here since Im very new to tube based pedals.

First, it takes a few seconds for the pedal to turn on, is that normal? The bassman build I did seems to turn on instantly but my daughters VOX does take a few seconds for the tubes to warm up so IDK?
Seconded, with the volume dimed it is still not at unity, this really seems abnormal.
And lastly, the pedal is pretty noisy like not usable kind of noise. I know this isn't right, but im wondering if the other 2 issues may be the cause. Any thoughts?

Question number one is always going to be, what power supply are you using with the pedal? If the supply isn't capable of providing enough current, then the output won't be as high as it should be and it will be noisy. Also if the power supply is straining to heat the tube, it's going to take longer than usual to warm up.

That being said, tubes by their very nature always take a little while to warm up, and if you have a bassman that comes on immediately without at least a few seconds to warm up, then I have some serious questions about your bassman.

Power supply is a 2000ma dedicated, the bassman is an always on, but I will click it off and on from time to as I am checking things, tubes are probably just still warm but I will double check. Any guess as to what the BT draws?

I would expect it to pull 400-450ma. I haven’t built that particular project but the other c2c single tube pedals I have are in that range give or take. The power supply is usually the culprit when it comes to the tube pedals. The bassman pulls probably 600ish so you should be well within range. Just to rule it out completely I would suggest trying it without having the bassman plugged in and only having the bathtub powered. Better to rule out easy stuff. If that doesn’t do it I would post in the troubleshooting forum with pics front and back.

If you're referring to the Bassdude pedal, clicking it on and off bypasses the preamp but does not remove power to the tubes. So when I say the tubes need time to warm up that means from the time power is plugged in to the time the pedal passes signal. If your Bathtub reverb takes time to start passing signal every time you bypass it and switch it back in, you have a very serious problem.

But I think now is probably the point where we ask for pictures of your build to see if anything looks off, and naturally as a tube build we have to ask if you are using a known-good tube.

Thanks for the replies, set this aside for the holidays. Not sure why I was thinking turning the pedal off killed the power. Just to clarify, yes on power up takes a sec to warm up but then acts normal. Think the biggest issue is with the volume turned up all the way it is still cutting volume when engaged.
