baxandall tone stack cutting distortion?

hi guys, im trying to put together a sunn model t inspired pedal. ive used the generic schematic floating around, and sounds pretty good. how ever, when i feed this into a james/ baxandall tone stack, it sounds pretty farty, with gated decay and much less distortion. do i need to add a recovery stage after, as ive seen 3 band tone stacks fed straight from Q4 that dont then have another amplification stage. is it something different about the baxandall that im missing?

hey chuck, hope your well. so this is what im trying, but yea seems Q7 has a pretty good sounding output with the audio probe, Q8, well, kinda sounds a bit farty on the decay and not really as much gain as i was expecting, and then yea on volume output pot, farty decay, and less gain than at Q7. i have read a bit about the impedance issues that this tone stack sometimes causes?! oh, and im using j201 TO-92 package atm, but want to use smd when i get around to ordering pcbs.

What are the drain voltages on Q5, Q5 & Q7?

R12 should be more like 10K.

What are the values of the BASS, TREBLE & VOLUME pots?
