My prize showed up the other day and I'm stoked to build these. I NEVER get any personal build time now that I've relocated to a store so am putting together a portable project set of tools so I can work from home as I get a chance.

Was completely out of needed delay chips so did a chip order and minor parts refresh from SBP so I'm all set.

The process has begun. I snagged a little tool bag from Home Depot big enough to pack an iron, magnifier, my alligator clip i/o board, clippers, parts tester, and I have beer. The dog and I have settled in for the evening.

Off to a rough start. Thinking the beer may have played a factor in this:

Got that corrected and...no delay. Checked every part, reflowed every solder joint. Nothing. Turns out it was a bad 3207. More to come. Sounds wonderful...

I made a similar mistake with a spdt switch... at least with a mistake like this you are desoldering from the easier side of the board, compared to desoldering a pot put the right way round.

I've done that while completely sober! Plus it was two pots and three switches!

Worked out in the end though, thankfully.

I did the very same thing on my 1st build of my own chorus .

So in a total 180 to the typical internet BS I decided to find a MN3204 so I could build an HF-2 on Utsource. I paid a fortune for this $6.00 chip due to shipping. Honestly, I can't really prove I got a real thing but it sounds totally diffent (in an expected way) from the BF-2 variant so I'm calling this a win. Stay tuned for a boxing and follow up but it's calibrated and sounds excellent.
