This was originally just going to be a Turbo Rat featuring the Soviet UD1408 and glass LEDs, but I had to make some further adjustments to compensate for how dark the chip turned out to be.

You'll notice the chip is upside down- I bought a couple dozen of these from a guy in Ukraine, and tested them all, six of them were apparently cased backward. The rest I have on hand have the typical orientation. These upside down versions also seem to have a lot less treble than their right way around counterparts and the proper LM308

Tweaks are mostly to address the aforementioned darkness inherent to the chip-
  • R9 - 1k
  • C7 - 47p
  • C8(comp cap) - 5pf (two 10pfs in series)
  • C11 (filter cap) 1n
  • C5 is 2.7u to shift the cutoff down a smidge
  • Filter control is 50k
  • Dirt pot is 100kD
  • I've added a 470r resistor to lug 1 of the distortion pot
I've also used one of the metal wrapped glass LEDs for the indicator. Its fairly dim but it looks cool

I don't have an unmodded Turbo Rat right now, so I compared it to my stock Rat 2

This chip with my tweaks has a more Metal- flavored voice than a typical Rat, in my opinion, but it still does it's slightly fuzzy thing.
