Book recommendation

Hey everyone,

I know that there are a lot of people on this board who are very well versed in electronics and theory, but there also seem to be a lot of people who are new to this. I'm almost 40 and only became interested in electronics a few years ago when I built my first pedal. I have zero electronics training and while I spent quite a long time in school, I hardly scraped my way through "math for liberal arts majors," which is basically the math class they invented because they felt bad for all of us humanities nerds.

Anyways... I just wanted to share a little bit about a book I bought recently called Vacuum Tube Amplifier Basics by EJ Jurich. It is obviously about building tube amps, but I have got to say that the first 1/4 of the book is essentially an "electronics for dummies" book that explains the most basic and essential electronic theory in a way that most people should be able to understand and that are directly applicable to pedal building. It has been helpful for me in particular in beginning to learn more than just what the components in a schematic are and how they are laid out, but what they are actually doing and how those things influence what happens in the circuit. I think it will be a long time before I am able to wrap my mind around that aspect of things, but this book has gotten me to a point where it is starting to make a little sense, at least.

If anyone else has any good recommendations please feel free to share them here!
