Bootleg at 9 volts instead of 18?

I have a spare TS10 Tone Geek board that I'm contemplating building with the gain stage and tone stack components that are used in the Bootleg drive. Wondering if anyone has done something like that. Bootleg power stage provides 18 volts instead of the 9 volts on the TS10. Seems like it would work fine but with less headroom. I tend to keep the gain down and volume just a bit higher than unity when using a tube screamer. Any downsides to this idea?
 
Not a big fan of that PCB.. I think it was hastily done... it's just messy.. some parts are labelled and some parts you have to go back and find build doc. to find out what goes there. Make it one way or the other man.Parts placement/layout is messy as well..
