BS170 how to get more gain??

Apologies if this has been discussed in other threads, but I can find them. I built a Prince Albert (Catalinbread RAH) and it sounds pretty good, but there’s not as much gain as I think there should be. I’m prolly wrong about that, but in the off chance I’m not, is there any way to up the gain on the threes stages of BS 170’s? Would a trimpot where the 3k3 resistors on the Drains of the trannies work? Or no. Here’s the schematic, we’ll…a schematic.

OPE! I may have jumped the gun. I just read about the negative feedback resistor and the 680nf cap how you can put a trimpot in place of the 220k resistor and vary the value of the cap to change the gain. Is that the only way tho?
