Caesar Shape Switch

Hi guys. Built a Caesar chorus. It works, everything sounds awesome, the blend knob is a bit strange, it’s like it’s blending two parts of the chorus together, but that’s not what I wanted to post about. To anyone who has built it without any issues, does the shape switch seem to do anything for you? It seems like one mode, activates the red LEDs next to the switch, and one doesn’t, but I can’t really hear an audible difference in sound.

Someone confirm for me please.
 
It's subtle.

You can replace the two LEDs with 2.2uF MLCCs to round the LFO out a bit more, but even then it's not a perfect sine.
This is for D1 an D2, right? Would a set of 2.2 uF electrolytic a work too? I happen to be working on a pair of these right now, and realized I didn't order enough LEDs but it do have spare 2.2 uF electrolytic caps handy.
 
Chorus effects work by making a vibrato, slightly delayed, and then mixing 50/50 with your dry signal.

The Caesar puts this mixing on a knob so you can go from dry to chorus to vibrato. (D-c-v knob on the Julia). Part of the chorus-y sound is the out of tune-ness between dry and vibrato, and probably some phase cancellation. So the vibrato (max blend knob) sounds less chorus-y.

The shape is subtle as others have said. I echo the idea to turn blend fully cw (vibrato). You should here a more abrubt pitch change in triangle mode (like the pitch is a square wave).

This is because the pitch change is the Rate of Change of the delay time. Like turning the tone knob on a delay pedal creates a pitch bend while turning. When the delay time is modulated by a triangle, the Rate of Change (slope) is a square wave. So the pitch is a square wave.

When the delay time is modulated by a sine wave, the rate of change is still a sine wave.
