Just finished up these 2 drives together. Although I keep telling myself I don't need any more overdrives I can't resist. Both of these made it to my wishlist because I was curious about them, but they made it to the shopping cart based on @MichaelW's write-ups. He is the great enabler.

The Sugarbag has 2 TL072s. After reading some posts about fake TL072s floating around, I tried out some ones I sourced a long time ago, possibly from Tayda but not for sure, and recent ones from stompboxparts. I was getting kinda paranoid that they actually sound different, but more likely it's my imagination. This one has a nice natural sounding breakup, and it's not too gainy (which surprised me, as I thought it would be heavier since the company is more known for fuzzes).

The Cattle Driver is heavier/gainer, which is also the opposite of what I was expecting; I thought it would be a light overdrive. Compared to the Sugarbag it sounds less natural (meaning sounds more like a stomp box, if that makes sense). But I like its character, and I suspect it sounds better at stage volume than at home. For the LM301 I used an AS301AN.

Oh, and these are the first two builds where I actually made the effort to arrange all the resistors and box caps in the same orientations. The verdict isn't out if it's worth the effort (although the effort wasn't much).
