Champ board

Damn it's so small and cute I feel like hanging it on the wall instead of making an amp out of it, pick added for perspective.

I started this MONTHS ago, soldering about half of it together and just let it set there getting dusty. I make my own layouts so I can print the turret positions, glue, drill, swag, bingo. DIY Turret board. I have about 40 square feet of seafoam green 3mm G10 board I got on a too good to be true eBay auction....

Happy Memorial Day everyone. My Dad married my Mom on this holiday way back in 1950!!!

You should build a lunchbox Champ!

How do those Mod caps compare to say, F&Ts?

I laid it out to go into a Hammond sheet metal 10x6x2 chassis, I was going to do a head/cab combo. Used the original dimensions from the bassman cabinet reduced down to 15" in width. So it'll be lightweight but a little better looking than most 8" speakers cabs that look like beginner's boxes. I have a Jensen P8R for the build.

They're great! Low ESR, well within tolerance, sound just as classy as F&T, TAD, Supertech, Sprague, Elum. They are available in old values, i.e. 50 instead of 47, 30 instead of 33.... Loving the price at CE Dist.... I'm using the MOD's to replace the original Mallory's in my mid-70's Bassman Ten (50 watts, so why call it a Ten???) so I'll post a sound sample when I get that done.

As you can see I'm not going for the traditional layout, which is why I named it the Champ Deux. The 1/4 power mod should bring it down to 1.25 watts!!! Found the Fender logo online, just couldn't help myself lol....
